Dry Dredgers Field Trip
October 26, 2002
Alexandria, KY and Neighboring Sites

Site 3: Collecting

Upon arrival at the third site, Dan explained that specimens of the crinoid, Glyptocrinus, can be found here. The third site was higher up on the stratigraphy. It is in the Fairview Formation, which has a greatly different variety of fossil fauna than the Kope Formations, exposed at the other two sites.

And so up the hill to the crinoid spot we go.

Guess what I found!

In this picture, I tried to do an Ulrich pose as good as Ron Fine's pose in previous field trip report photo, but I just wound up looking like Gilligan finding something more interesting to him than Ginger.
