Cephalopods

Here's an interesting straight-shelled Nautiloid Cephalopod, with unusual preservation.

Here is a handful of typical finds. A cephalopod with regular preservation is the one at the top of the picture. At the far left is an interesting Strophonema, which normally occur much higher up in the Richmondian formations, are found in a thin layer on this Fairview formation site.

Pelecypods (clams)

Here's a clam with unusual preservation also. It might not be a fossil, but if it's a fossil, it's probably a Caritodens.

Many Caritodens were found that day. Here is one below, with more typical preservation.

An unusual preservation for clams in Cincinnatian, but fairly common on this site, is a red coloration.

Trace Fossils

As was true with our last trip to the site, lots of unidentifiable burrows were found.

Bryozoans

This site is loaded with tons of Byrozoans. I didn't take many pictures of them, but here's a nice articulated ramose (branching) bryozoan that I liked.
