Friday, June 12th: Ridgemount Quarry, Ft. Erie, Ontario

Those of us with passports spent Friday at the Ridgemount Quarry in Ontario, Canada, where we dug for Eurypterid fossils.

Here are some short of the group entering the quarry.

As was also true in past trips, local expert Malcolm Thornley gave us a briefing on these Eurypterids and how to dig for them. He is always very helpful and we appreciate it.

Best Finds of the day

One of the best finds of Ridgemount Quarry visit was this large head. (Next 3 pics, courtesy of Dawn Kincaid).

Also this tail as uncovered. (Next 3 pics, courtesy of Dawn Kincaid).

Here are some pictures of the digging and the site, taken by Dawn Kincaid and Jim and Kim Cox.

Now let's see Saturday's digging at the famous Penn Dixie site in Hamburg, NY.
