Annual Field Trip:
Penn Dixie Site, Buffalo, NY

The Third Weekend Every June

Our Field Trip Chair, Bob Bross, has arranged to make our trip to the Penn Dixie site in New York State an annual event, naming the third weekend in June as our date.

This site is famous for excellent specimens of the trilobite, Phacops rana. These trilobites are found by digging down a foot or so from the surface and removing layers of shale.

Here are some photos of Phacops trilobites that Dan Cooper has found at that site on his visits.
