How to get to the Meeting Room At UC Braunstein Hall

Parking for 2023 Meetings -
1. Parking Garage at the end of Clifton Court (our usual road). It costs $7.  Credit Card only.


2. Parking on Clifton Ave. There are about 8 spaces on Clifton Ave
between Clifton Court and Martin Luther King. These spaces are oddly
placed between the moving traffic and the bike lane next to the curb.
Free since Meters stop at 6pm.

If the Clifton Court Garage at the end of Clifton Court (our normal garage) is "FULL", try parking on Clifton Ave or Martin Luther King Blvd. If you reach the bottom of MLK Blvd without finding a space, try turning right at the bottom of the hill at Woodside Dr. and enter the Woodside Garage. It's a fairly long walk from there to the meeting room in Braunstein Hall, though.


3. Parking on Martin Luther King. From the intersection of Clifton and
MLK, drive east on MLK (as short a distance as possible) and park on
MLK. Free- There are meters but they do not charge after 6pm. The level
walk from here to Braunstein (MLK to Clifton Ave to Clifton Court) is
about 5 minutes, or 0.2 miles.

Enter Braunstein Hall from the right side of the building if looking at it from Clifton Court Drive. Enter the building and go
up one flight.

Handicap access- The geology /physics building has a road-wide tunnel
through it, which is visible from Clifton Court. Enter the building's
door (floor 2) and walk through the building (going opposite the ADA
signs), until you are in Braunstein (now floor 1). Find the elevator on
this hallway and go up one floor.

From the north or south via I-75

From I-75, take the Hopple Street exit (exit 3). (If you are traveling north, Hopple Street exits from the left lane)
Turn left off the exit on to Hopple Street.
As you cross the first intersection (Central Parkway), Hopple Street becomes Martin Luther King Drive.
Follow Martin Luther King Drive up the hill. Keep right at the fork with Dixmyth.
Turn Right onto Clifton Avenue at the top of the hill.
UC will be on your left. Turn left onto the very first drive into campus (Clifton Ct.). Park in parking garage at the end of Clifton Court. 

From the west via I-74

Take I-74 east to I-75 south.
Take the Hopple Street exit (exit 3).
Turn left off the exit on to Hopple Street.
As you cross the first intersection (Central Parkway), Hopple Street becomes Martin Luther King Drive.
Follow Martin Luther King Drive up the hill. Keep right at the fork with Dixmyth.
Turn Right onto Clifton Avenue at the top of the hill.
UC will be on your left. Turn left onto the very first drive into campus (Clifton Ct.).
Park in parking garage at the end of Clifton Court. 

From the north via I-71

From I-71 south, take the Taft Road exit (exit 3).
The exit places you on Taft Road, a one-way street heading west.
Taft Road becomes Calhoun Street as you near campus.
Keep following Calhoun until it ends, then turn right on Clifton Avenue.
Drive down Clifton Ave with UC on your right past the UC main entrance.
Shortly after you pass Wilson Auditorium, Turn right into campus on Clifton Court.
Park in parking garage at the end of Clifton Court. 

From the south via I-71

Take I-71 north until it merges with I-75 just south of Florence, Ky.
Stay on I-75 after you cross the Ohio River.
From the left lane on I-75, take the Hopple Street exit (exit 3).
Turn left off the exit on to Hopple Street.
As you cross the first intersection (Central Parkway), Hopple Street becomes Martin Luther King Drive.
Follow Martin Luther King Drive up the hill. Keep right at the fork with Dixmyth.
Turn Right onto Clifton Avenue at the top of the hill.
UC will be on your left. Turn left onto the very first drive into campus (Clifton Ct.).
Park in parking garage at the end of Clifton Court. 

From the east via U.S. 50

From U.S 50 west, turn right on Taft Road.
Taft is a one-way street heading west.
Taft becomes Calhoun Street as you near campus.
Keep following Calhoun until it ends, then turn right on Clifton Avenue.
Drive down Clifton Ave with UC on your right past the UC main entrance.
Shortly after you pass Wilson Auditorium, Turn right into campus on Clifton Court.
Park in parking garage at the end of Clifton Court. 

DIRECTIONS TO BRAUNSTEIN HALL AND PARKING

The meeting are held in Room 201, on the second Floor of Braunstein Hall (formerly known as the Physics Building). 

If you park on College Ct., Braunstein Hall is the building immediately on the right. 

Note: The outside doors to Braunstein Hall automatically lock at 8 pm, which is our meeting start time. We will make every effort to have someone at the outside door to let in late arrivers or the door will be kept ajar.  

The beginners classes are most often held on the third floor, one floor above the general meeting room. See the bulletin for the specific room number for each beginner's class.

Parking Passes:
Parking passes will not be available this year. The parking garage is pay-by-credit-card upon exit.

Meetings are usually held on the fourth Friday of Jan, Feb, March, April, May, Sept, Oct and Nov.. The November meeting is often held a week earlier to avoid Thanksgiving weekend.  We have a holiday dinner with the Cincinnati Mineral Society that includes a feature speaker. We sometimes meet with the Kentucky Paleo Society in June or July for a picnic meeting which includes a field trip.
