The day has arrived when virtual fossils are available on the Internet for you to hold in your virtual hand. Unlike other virtual sites currently on the Web, the Dry Dredgers VIRTUAL FOSSIL will work with any Web Browser. No plug-in's or VRML compatability is required. Even if you have a slow 386 machine or Spry Mosaic, you can handle this VIRTUAL FOSSIL.
Click here to handle the VIRTUAL FOSSIL. (Normal HTML file 24k plus 127k in .gif files)
Also available here is an animated rotation of the same fossil. You will need Netscape Navigator, Internet Explorer or compatable browser for this one.

Note: For those of you who are already dabbling in virtual museums, the VIRTUAL FOSSIL may seem quite low-brow. Consider, though, the challenge of extending fossil collections to underfunded museums, colleges and the like, where the latest computer hardware/software is not available. The VIRTUAL FOSSIL is an experiment to determine how best to present fossils on the Dry Dredgers Web Page in the future.
For those of you who have faster computers and modems with the latest plug-ins to Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer, check out these other Web sites that are pioneering Virtual Reality for displaying fossils. They are really wonderful.
